El Matador

I love chillwave and everything it has to offer. So I pretty much love Chaz Bundick aka Toro Y Moi. In light of dedicating a post to Zomby, I’ll dedicate this one to Toro. He doesn’t have too many remixes, but what he’s got are pretty solid.

Here’s a Toro remix of The Longcut’s “Repeated”. He added enough synth to make one question what they’re hearing and it blooms nicely. The “repeating” beat is infectious and glowing. [I got it from RCRD LBL]

Toro completely reduxed this track “At A Glance”  by Body Language as they remixed a track of his, also located below. Toro’s version is absorbing and foggy, just like most of his other stuff. I really like this redo as it reminds me of a great summer’s day. [I got it from Golden Bloggen and GvB]

“Timed Pleasure” (Body Language Remix)

An album full of remixes of one track, Tegan and Sara’s “Alligator” got remixed so many times it’s hard to keep track. But here’s Toro’s Caribbean-esque interpretation. [I got it from PMA]

And as if it wasn’t chill enough, Bundick remixes his buddy Ernest Greene’s (Washed Out) break out track “Feel It All Around”. It’s a little drowsier, slower and gooier than the original. [I got it from Citizen Dick]

And for good measure here’s Bundick’s most recent single “Leave Everywhere”. It’s a little less chill than his other material, but that’s not necessarily bad. [I got it from MOKB]
